Chronox Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 9, 2026

Chronox is designed as a local-first timing app. This policy explains what Chronox stores and what information may be processed by services required for notifications, Lock Screen activities, advertising, and the optional Remove Ads purchase.

Data stored by Chronox

Your stopwatches, laps, timers, workout routines, timing history, statistics, app preferences, and locally cached purchase status are stored on your device. Chronox does not require an account and does not send this timing information to an Araxo or Chronox server.

Notifications and Lock Screen activities

If you start or schedule supported timers, Chronox may request notification permission and schedule notifications through your device. On supported Apple devices, Chronox can also show an active timer or stopwatch as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen or in the Dynamic Island. The operating system processes and displays this information. You can change notification and Live Activity permissions in your device settings.

Advertising and consent

Chronox displays a small banner advertisement while ads are enabled. It does not show interstitial, rewarded, app-open, or other full-screen advertisements.

Chronox uses Google Mobile Ads and explicitly requests only non-personalized advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may process device, advertising, interaction, diagnostic, and approximate-location information to deliver and measure advertisements, secure the service, and prevent fraud.

Where required, Chronox uses Google's User Messaging Platform to present consent choices before requesting an advertisement. You can review or change available advertising privacy choices from the advertising section in Chronox settings.

For more information about Google's processing, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Optional Remove Ads purchase

Chronox offers an optional one-time purchase that permanently removes banner advertising. Purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play under their respective privacy policies. Chronox receives the product and transaction status needed to unlock or restore the purchase, but does not receive payment-card or bank-account information. The ad-free entitlement is cached on your device.

Sounds and device feedback

Timer and workout sounds, vibrations, and related device feedback are produced on your device. Chronox does not record audio and does not use your microphone.

Other third parties

Chronox does not include an app-operated analytics service, user accounts, developer-operated payment processing, or cloud synchronization. Google processes information needed for advertising, Apple or Google processes optional store purchases, and your operating system may process notifications and Live Activities under its own privacy policy.

Your choices

You can delete timers, stopwatches, workouts, and history inside Chronox; disable notifications or Live Activities in device settings; change available advertising consent choices in Chronox; or stop using the app. Locally stored data can be removed by deleting the app.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Chronox or the services it uses change. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
